Effect of Reduced Physical Activity on Murf-1 and Atrogin-1 Gene Expression in Soleus Muscle of Wistar Rats Following Endurance, Resistance and Combined Training

Background and Aims Understanding the involved mechanisms in muscle atrophy can help develop new treatment methods for atrophic conditions. Skeletal via biochemical transcriptional pathways increase expression of some related genes. The present study aims to assess effect reduced physical activity by spinal nerve ligation (SNL) after a period resistance, endurance combined exercises on MuRF-1 Atrogin-1 genes male rats. Methods In this experimental study, 30 Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups: Control+SNL, exercise+SNL, resistance training+SNL. performed six weeks.
